JULIE RUIZ grew up in the small town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, population maybe 2,000. Whether she was carving on park benches or spray painting her VW bus, art was always a natural part of her life. Self-expression, creativity, teenage boredom and rebellion inspired her to further her education and receive a design degree at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She landed her first job at MTV Latin America as a designer and then in 2002 found her home sweet home in New York City and at VH1, where she is currently Design Director.
